DAY 1 - ARRIVE AUCKLAND
On arrival at Auckland Airport you will be met and transferred
to your hotel. (Self-drive passengers collect your rental
car for your exclusive use until the end of the tour package).
DAY 2 - AUCKLAND WAITOMO CAVES ROTORUA (370
KMS) (D)
Enroute to Rotorua the highlight is a visit to the Waitomo
Glow Worm Caves. This experience is climaxed by drifting silently
in a boat on the underground river under the milky way of
millions of glow worms on the cavern roof above you. This
evening, enjoy a night of truly authentic, traditional culture
and entertainment. Join in a time of sharing and feasting
to a selection of foods cooked the traditional Maori way on
hot stones in an authentic earthen oven.
DAY 3 - ROTORUA
Todays tour includes Te Puia and its Thermal Valley
of roaring geysers, steaming rivers and boiling mud pools.
Following this, you will travel to Rainbow Springs to view
trout and other wildlife and to the famous Agrodome Sheep
Show (Self-drive passengers have the flexibility to explore
the many other interesting activities in and around Rotorua).
DAY 4 - ROTORUA WELLINGTON (465 KMS)
Departing Rotorua, head south via Lake Taupo and the Tongariro
National Park to Levin and on to Wellington, New Zealands
capital.
DAY 5 - WELLINGTON PICTON CHRISTCHURCH (370
KMS)
This morning, board the Interislander Ferry across the Cook
Strait to Picton to connect with the Coastal Pacific train
which journeys via Kaikoura to Christchurch. On arrival you
will be met and transferred to your hotel. (Self-drive passengers
return their vehicle prior to boarding the Interislander Ferry.
On arrival in Picton, collect your South Island vehicle and
resume your exciting journey).
DAY 6 - CHRISTCHURCH GREYMOUTH WEST COAST
GLACIERS (450 KMS)
One of the worlds best scenic train journeys, the Tranz
Alpine, winds across spectacular gorges and river valleys,
over the massive Southern Alps in Arthurs Pass National
Park and through lush beech forest to Greymouth on the West
Coast. Continue southwards by coach along the coast to reach
Westland National Park and the glacier region. (Selfdrivepassengers
travel over the Canterbury Plains over to Arthurs Pass
en route to Westland National Park).
DAY 7 - WEST COAST GLACIERS (B)
A full day at leisure to enjoy the magnificent glaciers. Climb
on to the slow moving river of ice or take a scenic flight
(optional) for a birds eye view of this spectacular
terrain.
DAY 8 - WEST COAST GLACIERS QUEENSTOWN (420 KMS)

Depart this morning through the South Westland Heritage Park
and across the rugged Haast Pass and Lake Wanaka. This afternoons
travel is through the Kawarau Gorge to reach Queenstown.
DAY 9 - QUEENSTOWN
This is a free day for you to pursue your own activities.
Queenstown offers jet boating, lake cruises, bungy jumping,
rafting, horse riding and, gondola rides.
DAY 10 - QUEENSTOWN MILFORD SOUND TE ANAU
(420 KMS)
Drive along Lake Wakatipu and have your morning tea break
in Te Anau (not included). Enter Fiordland National Park and
travel through beech forest, passing majestic mountains. On
through the Homer Tunnel in time to board your catamaran for
the Milford Sound cruise. You will pass Mitre Peak, the highest
mountain in the world to rise vertically from the sea. View
the Stirling and Bowen Falls as you cruise out to the Tasman
Sea. Return to the pier where you re-board your coach for
your return journey to Te Anau.

DAY 11 - TE ANAU INVERCARGILL (160 KMS)
This morning we depart for Invercargill, the southernmost
city of New Zealand. Upon arrival, you are free to enjoy some
of the many optional activities available including a scenic
flight excursion to Stewart Island.
DAY 12 - INVERCARGILL DUNEDIN (220 KMS)
Today we travel to Dunedin, the Edinburgh of the South.
The rest of the day is free for optional sightseeing such
as visiting the Royal Albatross Colony, Monarch Wildlife Cruises
to see the Yellow Eyed Penguins, Larnach Castle and the Taieri
Gorge Train ride.
DAY 13 - DUNEDIN CHRISTCHURCH (365 KMS)
Depart in the morning for Oamaru and Timaru before crossing
the Canterbury Plains to arrive in Christchurch.
DAY 14 - DEPART CHRISTCHURCH
Early this morning a tour on the Hot Air Balloon
is suggested if time permits. Transfer to the airport for
your departure flight. (Self-drive passengers return your
car directly at the airport).
