DAY 1 - ARRIVE AUCKLAND (D)
On arrival at Auckland Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel (Self-drive passengers collect your rental car for your exclusive use until the end of the tour package). Tonight make your way to the Waitemata Harbour to enjoy a romantic dinner cruise.

 

DAY 2 - AUCKLAND (B/L)
This morning make your way to the ferry wharf for an unforgettable Waiheke Island Winery tour. You will visit three leading island vineyards and an olive growing estate. A light lunch and all day bus pass are included, which will allow you to further explore the island.

DAY 3 - AUCKLAND – WAITOMO CAVES – ROTORUA (370 KMS) (B)
Enroute to Rotorua, the highlight is a visit to the Waitomo Glow Worm Caves. This experience is climaxed by drifting silently in a boat on the underground river under the milky way of millions of glow worms on the cavern roof above you.

 

DAY 4 - ROTORUA (B)
Today’s tour includes Te Puia and its Thermal Reserve to see roaring geysers and mud pools. Following this, travel to Rainbow Springs to view trout and other wildlife and to the famous Agrodome Sheep Show. Tonight, make your own way to world famous Polynesian Spa.

DAY 5 - ROTORUA – CHRISTCHURCH (B) (BY AIR)
Transfer to Rotorua Airport for your flight to Christchurch where you will be met by our representative for a private transfer to your hotel. (Airfare from Rotorua to Christchurch excluded). (Self-drive passengers return your car at Rotorua Airport and collect your South Island car on arrival at Christchurch Airport).

 

DAY 6 - CHRISTCHURCH (B)
Included today is a Christchurch sightseeing tour including the International Antarctic Centre. The tour takes you around the city’s highlights and historic sites such as the Botanic Gardens, the Avon River and Canterbury Museum. When leaving the inner city, the tour takes in several parks and gardens including Mona Vale Gardens and Hagley Park before heading to the Port Hills for spectacular views over the city and Canterbury Plains to the Southern Alps. After the visit at the International Antarctic centre, you will be transferred to the city centre where you can relax and enjoy a 30 minutes Punting on the Avon tour.

 

DAY 7 - CHRISTCHURCH – GREYMOUTH – WEST COAST GLACIERS (450 KMS) (B)
Take one of the world’s best scenic train journeys - The Tranz Alpine to Greymouth on the West Coast. Continue southwards by coach along the coast to reach Westland National Park and the glacier region. (Self-drive passengers travel over the Canterbury Plains over to Arthur’s Pass and then en route to Westland National Park).

 

DAY 8 - WEST COAST GLACIERS (B)
A full day at leisure to enjoy the magnifi cent glaciers. Climb on to the slow moving river of ice or take a scenic flight (optional) for a bird’s eye view of this spectacular terrain.

 

DAY 9 - WEST COAST GLACIERS – WANAKA (300 KMS) (B)
We depart this morning through the South Westland Heritage Park and across the rugged Haast Pass to reach Wanaka.

 

DAY 10 - WANAKA – QUEENSTOWN (117 KMS) (B)
This morning, make your way to Puzzling World, one of its kind, worldwide. Challenge yourself in the 3-D Great Maze. Look up and you’ll see a mirrored ceiling that acts as a giant kaleidoscope! You’ll be astonished by the illusion rooms, astounded by the holograms and confounded by the puzzles. Using the toilets here is a must – you’ll find out why! Later this afternoon you will travel south to the adventure capital of New Zealand – Queenstown.

 

DAY 11 - QUEENSTOWN (B/D)
This morning, enjoy a genuine British double-decker bus sightseeing tour and get a bird’s eye view of the spectacular Wakatipu basin along with some of the areas key attractions such as Lake Hayes, Bungy Jump site, Historic Arrowtown and Gibbston Valley Wines. Highlight today is a candle light dinner in a private venue surrounded by Queenstown’s most spectacular views (transfer is not included).

DAY 12 - MILFORD SOUND EXCURSION (600 KMS) (B/L)
Drive along Lake Wakatipu to Te Anau and Fiordland National Park. Travel through beech forest passing majestic mountains on through the Homer Tunnel, in time to board your catamaran for the Milford Sound Luncheon Cruise. Pass Mitre Peak, the highest mountain in the world to rise vertically from the sea. View the Stirling and Bowen Falls as you cruise out to the Tasman Sea. Return to the pier where you re-board your coach for your return journey to Queenstown.

 

DAY 13 - QUEENSTOWN – MT COOK – CHRISTCHURCH (600 KMS) (B)
This morning, travel over the Lindis Pass to reach Mt Cook around lunch time. A rare opportunity to take an optional scenic flight to view Mt Cook’s snow fields and glaciers. Continue through to Lake Tekapo and across the Canterbury Plains to Christchurch.

 

DAY 14 - DEPART CHRISTCHURCH (B)
Early this morning a tour on the “Hot Air Balloon” is suggested if time permits. Transfer to the airport for your departure flight. (Self-drive passengers return your car directly at the airport).
