DAY 1 - ARRIVE CHRISTCHURCH

On arrival at Christchurch Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel. (Self-drive passengers collect your rental car for your exclusive use until the end of the tour package).

 

DAY 2 - CHRISTCHURCH – QUEENSTOWN (490 KMS)
Travel across the Canterbury Plains, the pass through the rural towns of Geraldine and Fairlie to reach Lake Tekapo. Continue south to the small town of Twizel and pass through the Kawarau Gorge to arrive in Queenstown early evening.

 

DAY 3 - QUEENSTOWN
A free day to explore the endless optional attractions available. Queenstown offers bungy jumping, jetboating, white water rafting, gondola rides and much more.

 

DAY 4 - QUEENSTOWN – MILFORD SOUND – TE ANAU (420 KMS)
An early start as you follow Lake Wakatipu via Kingston arriving at Te Anau for morning tea break. From there you enter Fiordland National Park. Travel through beech forest, passing majestic mountains. On through the Homer Tunnel in time to board your catamaran for the Milford Sound cruise. You will pass Mitre Peak, the highest mountain in the world to rise vertically from the sea. View the Stirling and Bowen Falls as you cruise out to the Tasman Sea. Return to the pier and reboard you coach to Te Anau.

 

DAY 5 - TE ANAU – INVERCARGILL – STEWART ISLAND (157 KMS)
Depart Te Anau this morning and travel through the town of Gore to reach Invercargill, New Zealand’s southernmost city. You will be transferred to Bluff to collect the Stewart Island ferry. On arrival in Oban on Stewart Island, you will enjoy a guided tour of the island by mini coach. The remainder of the day is at your leisure.

 

DAY 6 - STEWART ISLAND – INVERCARGILL
Today is at your leisure on Stewart Island until check in for your return flight to Invercargill (one way flight included). There are many optional wildlife cruises and walks in this untouched natural area that you may wish to take (optional activities not included). On arrival in Invercargill you will be transferred to your accommodation.

 

DAY 7 - INVERCARGILL – DUNEDIN (220 KMS)
Today we travel to Dunedin, the “Edinburgh of the South”. The rest of the day is free for optional sightseeing such as visiting the Royal Albatross Colony, a Monarch Wildlife Cruise to see the Yellow Eyed Penguins, a Larnach Castle Tour or Taieri Gorge Train ride.

 

DAY 8 - DUNEDiN – CHRISTCHURCH (365 KMS)
Depart this morning for Oamaru and Timaru before crossing the Canterbury Plains to arrive in Christchurch.

 

DAY 9 - DEPART CHRISTCHURCH
Early this morning a “Hot Air Balloon” ride is suggested if time permits. Transfer to the airport for your departure flight. (Self-drivers return your car directly to the airport)
